Keith Barrett

(Retired Maryland State Trooper)

 

Chief Operating Officer/Director of Operations and Marketing

 

Keith is the product of 10 years of service in the US. ARMY and 10 years of service with the Maryland State Police served primarily in and around the Special Operations Command. He served in units which include 2nd Ranger Battalion, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and 3rd US Infantry the Old Guard “Official Escort to the President of the United States.” Keith has served 2 combat tours:

 

n Operation Just Cause – Panama 1989

n Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm – Saudi

Arabia/Kuwait1990-1991

 

He ended his time in service with the US. ARMY in 1997 with an Honorable Discharge. Keith earned 11 Army achievement medals, 7 Army commendation medals, a combat infantryman’s badge with star, 2 combat patches and numerous other awards and achievements. Upon being selected and hired by the Maryland State Police, he spent most of his State Police career in a patrol capacity. Most of his patrol skills and experience were obtained while patrolling in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He developed an affinity for the suppression of criminal activity through aggressive policing tactics and subsequently honed his skills to be eventually considered a subject matter expert on drug interdiction focusing on the

seizure of illegal narcotics, guns and money used in narcotics the trafficking trade. Keith retired from Maryland State Police in good standing in 2005. Some of his career accomplishments include being awarded the honor and title of the College Park Barrack “Trooper of the Year” 5 years

consecutively, Prince George’s County Police Chiefs  Association “Officer of the Year 3 times, Federal Bar

Associations “Top Cop “ award, American Legion’s Officer of the year award 2 times, 2 Governor’s Citations for service and a host of other awards and accolades.

 

 Upon his retirement from Maryland State Police, Keith went to work in the private sector. He was employed as the Director of Operations and Training/Law Enforcement Programs Manager with On Target Communications from 2004-2006. During his tenure there, he managed, marketed and operated over 35 episodes/events which included: 

 

  • The World SWAT Challenge

  • The Best Ranger Competition

  • The LEOPARD Challenge

  • Marine Super Squad 

 

 

All of the aforementioned events were televised shows on major networks. These events generated over a solid 7 figures of revenue. Keith was personally credited for a spike in revenue which doubled after he assumed management duties of said events. Keith took advantage of this time away from public service by completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and obtaining 2 Masters Degree’s. One in Exercise Physiology and an MBA with a concentration in Public Safety. Upon the expiration of that contract, he contracted with private military contractor companies whose area’s of operation include Iraq and Afghanistan. Keith has competed in, or attended in every Venue for Police and Fire Athletic Competitions as well as SWAT competitions over the past 18 years and maintains a strong relationship with those organizations, sponsors and competitors.
